Why there is a donation QR on a free site
Xin Xin Homes costs nothing to use. Not for tenants, not for owners, and no commission on your rent. This page is the honest explanation of why we still put a QR code up — and of everything it does not buy you.
What the money is actually for
Right now no money passes through Xin Xin Homes at all. Your rent and deposit go straight from you to the owner of the home, in your own banking app, and we never touch or hold any of it. That is not a design choice we made because it is elegant — it is the only thing we are allowed to do.
Taking someone’s rent and passing it on is a regulated activity in Thailand. Doing it properly needs a registered Thai company and a payment licence, and both cost real money before they earn any. Until they exist we cannot hold a deposit in escrow, we cannot refund anyone automatically, and we cannot stand between a tenant and an owner when a payment goes wrong. We would like to be able to do all three.
So: donations go toward forming the Thai company and getting the payment licence. Not to a marketing budget, not to a growth target. When those are in place, the platform can hold money properly and this page stops asking for anything.

Xin Xin Homes is free, and we have no funding. We keep it alive on our own weekends and nights. If it helps you, any small support helps us keep improving it.

Giving is entirely voluntary and changes nothing about anyone’s booking, listing or lease. People who give are not answered faster, ranked higher or treated differently in any way, and nobody is ever told who gave.
What a donation is not
- It is not a payment for anything. No feature is unlocked, no listing is promoted, no booking is prioritised.
- It is not rent, a deposit, or any part of what you owe an owner — that money never comes to us.
- It is not an investment, a loan or a share in anything, and it cannot be refunded.
- It is not tax deductible. We are not a charity, and we will not pretend to be one.
- It is not expected. Most people will never give anything, and the site works exactly the same for them.
